Creating a Console Account

Learn how to get started with Vim by submitting your organization setup request.

Overview

Before you can use Vim Connect or manage users in Vim Console, your organization must be created by the Vim team. This setup ensures your Console Account, Organization, and initial Practice Champion (admin user) are configured correctly.

How the Console account is created

Your practice or onboarding partner submits a setup request to Vim. The Vim team then creates your Console Account, links your Organization, and configures the Champion user.

Step 1: Submit a request to the Vim team

To begin, schedule a call using the provided link. During scheduling, you’ll complete a short form that helps the Vim team configure your Console account and support EHR integration.

Practice information

  • Practice name
    Used to label your Organization in Vim Console.

  • EHR web address (URL)
    Ensures Vim integrates with the correct EHR environment.

    • Web-based EHRs (e.g., Athena): Log in and copy the full browser URL.

    • Desktop EHRs (e.g., eCW): Right-click the EHR plugin icon → Properties → copy the contents of the Target field.

  • Clinic address
    Used to verify your organization and align regional or network support.

  • Phone number
    Used for contact verification or coordination, if needed.

  • TIN (Tax Identification Number)
    Helps prevent duplicate setup for multi-site practices.

Champion information

  • First and last name
    The designated Console user and primary onboarding contact.

  • Email address
    Used to send the Console activation email and product updates.

  • EHR username
    Links the Champion’s Vim account to their EHR identity.

👉 Submit this information through your onboarding partner or email support@getvim.com.

Step 2: Vim creates the account

Once the request is received, the Vim team will:

  • Create the Console Account

  • Link the Organization

  • Set up the Champion user in Vim Console

  • Review and resolve any duplicate records

👉 If similar organization details already exist, the Vim team may reach out to confirm information before proceeding.

Step 3: Confirmation and next steps

After setup is complete:

  • The Champion receives a Console activation email from Vim

  • Once activated, your practice can move forward with installation and training

👉 The Champion may activate their account immediately or wait to complete activation during a scheduled kickoff call with the Vim team.
