Vim Console Account Owners and Account Admins can manage Care Insights permissions and settings at both the organization (practice) and user levels.
This guide explains how to configure permissions and settings in Console for Care Insights and outlines the expected behaviors for each permission type.
Permissions by Care Insights Category:
Permissions in Care Insights are managed by category. Each user can have different permissions for specific Care Insights categories, such as:
- Diagnosis Gaps
- Quality
- Risk
- Rx
- Utilization
- Care Management
- SDOH
- ADT
- Clinical Insights
Permission Types:
- None: The user cannot view items in this category.
- Read Only: The user can view items from this category and add internal comments, but cannot take action.
- Action: The user can view, comment on, and take action on items from this category.
Organization-Level Permissions:
- New users automatically inherit the current organization default permissions.
- Updating organization default permissions will affect:
- All new users created after the change.
- Existing users whose permissions haven’t been manually modified.
Settings in Care Insights
The Settings section in Care Insights allows Vim Console Account Owners and Admins to configure how the Care Insights application behaves across the organization.
While permissions control who can see or act on items, settings determine how Care Insights functions for users within the practice.
Available Settings
- App Size Configuration
Controls the default display size of the Care Insights application (small or large) for all users; set to large by default.- Regardless of the admin App Size Configuration, Users can individually adjust their app size while using Care Insights; their preference will be saved for future sessions.
- Auto-Select Suggested ICDs
Controls whether suggested ICD codes are pre-selected by default after clicking the Agree button. - Enable CPT Writeback
Allows Care Insights to perform writebacks for user selected CPT codes. This is on by default; turning this off will skip the CPT writeback for the care gaps set under the “Quality” insights category. - Auto-Expand in Encounter View
Automatically opens Care Insights when gaps are available for a patient in context. This is on by default; turning it off will prevent Vim from opening and auto-expanding automatically when gaps are available for a patient in context.
