Using Applications in Vim Connect

Learn how to access and use Vim applications inside your EHR, including how to interact with tools like Care Insights and Prior Authorization.


Overview

Once Vim Connect is installed and active, you’ll see the Vim heart icon in your EHR. When the icon turns blue, it means there are patient-specific tools or insights available. This guide walks you through what each application does and how to use them.

How to Access Applications

  • Log in to your EHR as usual

  • Open a patient chart

  • Look for the Vim heart icon (top-right corner)

    • Grey = No available data

    • Blue = Insights or tools are available

  • Click the blue heart to open the Vim panel

Vim's Core Applications

Care Insights

  • View patient-specific care gaps or quality opportunities

  • Accept or dismiss insights with one click

  • Supporting documentation included when available

Enhanced Eligibility

  • View patient plan, PCP, copay, and benefit details

  • Export eligibility information for follow-up

Prior Authorization

  • See if prior auth is required for a procedure

  • Submit requests directly in the EHR

  • Upload documentation and track status
