Using the Vim Canvas™ Marketplace

The Vim Canvas™ Marketplace allows users to discover, request, and manage third-party applications in the Vim Connect application hub in your EHR. These applications are designed to enhance practice workflows and improve patient care delivery.

Who Can Access the Marketplace

Access to the Marketplace depends on your role and how you use Vim:

  • End Users (Providers, Care Team Members, Admin Staff): Access the Marketplace from the User Center in Vim Connect (last icon in the app panel).

  • Account Owners and Organization Admins: Access the Marketplace via Vim Console, under the Applications tab on the left-hand navigation or via Vim's Canvas™ Marketplace in the EHR.

What You Can Do in the Marketplace

  • Browse available third-party applications
  • Watch demo videos for select tools
  • Learn about app functionality, workflow integration, and data security
  • Request access to new applications or data sources

What Happens After You Request an App

If your organization’s Marketplace settings are set to allow a user to directly add applications then:

  • The app will be automatically added
  • The user will receive a notification immediately letting them know the application is installed and in most cases, the app is ready to use.

If your organization’s Marketplace settings requires users to request to add an application, or if the requested application requires an organization level subscription, then the process includes a quick approval step.

  • Once the user selects the “request to add” button they will receive a notification that Vim will “review and process the request”.
  • Vim will notify the organization’s Console Account Owner of the request
  • For individual application requests - if the request is approved by the Console Account Owner, then the user will receive a notification that the app is ready—along with a follow-up email confirming activation or outlining any next steps.
  • For applications that require an organization-level subscription, Vim will ask the Console Account Owner for permission to share their contact information with the app developer, who will contact them to discuss next steps.

Marketplace FAQs

Q: Can I request multiple applications at once?
A: Yes — you can submit multiple requests, and Vim will review each one individually.

Q: How do I know which apps are currently live for my organization?
A: If you're a user, you can view all active applications available to you in the User Center within Vim Connect.

If you're a Vim Console Owner, you can see which apps are installed at the organization level by visiting the Apps tab in Console. Only Owners have access to this view.

Q: Who do I contact if I have questions or issues?
A: Contact your Vim representative or email support@getvim.com.

Q: As a Vim Console Owner, can I control app access for my organization?
A: Yes. By default, users can add apps directly from the Vim Canvas™ Marketplace. This makes it easy for providers to access tools that support their workflow without delay.

However, as an Admin or Owner, you can change the Marketplace settings in Vim Console to require approval before users can access specific applications. This gives you greater control over app distribution and ensures alignment with your organization’s preferences.

Q: What’s the difference between individual and organization-wide app subscriptions?
A: While access is managed through Vim, all billing and subscriptions are handled directly with the third-party application.

Some apps are completely free, while others offer free trials or require payment. Paid subscriptions may be managed at the individual or organization level, depending on the app’s setup.

Some tools provide individual licenses, while others require an organization-wide agreement.
Please coordinate directly with the third-party application for specific subscription and billing details.
